Otterly.AI alternatives: what agencies use when they outgrow the Lite plan
Otterly.AI is the cheapest way into AI search monitoring. Here's when agencies outgrow it — prompt pools, engine add-ons, client reporting — and which tools fit next.
On this page
Otterly.AI is where many agencies start with AI visibility, and for good reason: $29 a month gets you daily tracking on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. The question usually comes later — when the second and third client want the same thing, and the prompt pool runs out.
What Otterly costs today
From otterly.ai/pricing on 9 October 2026:
| Plan | Price per month | Prompts | Workspaces | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $29 | 15 | 1 | Daily tracking, 4 engines |
| Standard | $189 | 100 | Unlimited | API, MCP, Looker Studio connector; +100 prompts for $99/mo |
| Premium | $489 | 400 | Unlimited | Higher audit and API limits |
| Enterprise | Custom | From 1,000 | Unlimited | SSO, dedicated CSM |
Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude are add-ons on every tier (for example $59/month each for Gemini or AI Mode on Standard). The page also showed lower prices for annual billing, and an agency partner program with larger prompt allowances after a separate application.
When agencies outgrow it
1. The prompt pool is shared across clients. A useful prompt set for one client is about 20 buyer questions. Lite's 15 prompts cover less than one client; Standard's 100 cover five. Fifteen clients means Standard plus two prompt packs ($387 a month at list price), or Premium.
2. Engine add-ons add up. If clients ask about Gemini — Google's own assistant — that's an add-on on every Otterly tier, and so are AI Mode and Claude.
3. You need something to send. Otterly has detailed reports, exports and a Looker Studio connector, which suits agencies that already build reports in Looker. Agencies that want a finished, branded monthly report per client end up building it themselves.
4. Daily data is more than you need. Daily tracking is valuable when you're testing changes on a few pages. For a monthly client report, a weekly sample averaged over the month answers the same question. Read how often to track AI visibility before paying for more frequency than your report uses.
If none of these apply — one or two brands, Looker already set up, AI Overviews essential — stay on Otterly. It's good value.
The alternatives
Ranxii — per-client pricing and finished client reports
Ranxii is built around the agency's monthly cycle. For each client you confirm about 20 buyer questions (up to 25) and up to 5 competitors; Ranxii asks every question on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity once a week and stores every answer. Each month it prepares a report with your agency's logo and colour: mention rate, change since last month, engine breakdown, competitor share of voice, prompts where the client is missing and the sources the engines cite. Share it as a private link or PDF.
Pricing: €49/month for 5 clients, €99 for 20, €199 for 50. Gemini is included. 14-day trial with 2 clients, no card.
Choose it if: you report on more than a handful of clients and the deliverable is a monthly report. Don't choose it if: you need Google AI Overviews, Copilot, daily data or an API — Ranxii doesn't offer those.
Peec AI — deeper analysis, unlimited seats
Peec is stronger than Otterly on analysis and interface, with unlimited seats on every plan. Its pricing page didn't display prices when we checked on 9 October 2026; 2026 reviews report Starter at about €85–$95 a month for roughly 50 prompts. A good step up if your team spends time inside the tool rather than sending reports. More in Peec AI alternatives.
Scrunch — more engines per prompt
Every Scrunch plan includes ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta. Starter is $250 a month billed annually ($300 monthly) with 350 custom prompts. If engine add-ons are what's driving your Otterly bill up, Scrunch's bundle can work out simpler.
Semrush AI Visibility or Ahrefs Brand Radar — if you're already in the suite
Semrush charges $99 per domain per month for 25 daily prompts; Ahrefs offers custom prompts from €47 a month plus an AI Visibility Index. Convenient if your team already lives there; per-domain and per-check pricing is what to model. See Semrush vs Ahrefs for AI visibility.
A quick way to compare cost
For each tool on your shortlist, fill in one line:
| Clients | Prompts per client | Engines you need | Monthly price at that size | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example | 15 | 20 | ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity | ? |
Then divide by the number of clients. That per-client figure is what you compare against what you charge for AI visibility reporting — and it's the number that decides whether this becomes a profitable service or an unbilled favour. Our guide to pricing GEO services picks up from there.
